About this task
Help pack weekly food parcels for families across LA County. No experience needed — just show up ready to move at a steady pace in a warehouse environment.
The LA Regional Food Bank distributes tens of millions of pounds of food each year. Every box packed by volunteers is one less family going without. This is one of the highest-impact ways to spend four hours in the city.
How to complete
- Arrive at the volunteer entrance on E 41st St (not the main loading dock) 10 minutes before your shift.
- Sign the daily volunteer register and collect your hairnet and gloves.
- Join an assembly line team — a supervisor will explain your station role.
- Pack boxes to the day's specification (contents list provided at your station).
- Stack completed boxes on the designated pallets.
- At the end of your shift, have your hours signed off by the floor supervisor.
What to bring
- Closed-toe shoes (mandatory — no exceptions)
- Clothes you don't mind getting dusty
- Your own water bottle
How to submit

Notes
The warehouse is not climate-controlled. In summer it can be warm — dress accordingly. You must be 16 or older to volunteer here.
